We are back at urgent care again. My daughter broke out in hives today and her bottom lip was a little swollen. So instead of taking the girls to swimming lessons, where I thought I would take my picture for today, we found ourselves in urgent care. She is doing fine. They think it may have been the new gain fabric softener that I purchased yesterday so I guess I ‘ll need to give that away. I pray that was it and we don’t have to deal with this again. She has been prescribed some medicine and she’s feeling better now. I hope that we will not have a need visit urgent care, for any of us, for a very long time.
Last year I missed the Clickin Moms Clickin Walk l and said that I was going to make it a point to make it year. And I did. I was excited and happy to be there. But then I pulled my camera out, turned it on and on the LCD I saw the message “No Card” (or something like that). My heart dropped. I had forgotten my CF cards at home in my other bag. Someone suggested that I go to the CVS right around the corner. So I did. They only had one card on the shelf but then, that little voice…the thing we sometimes call “something”…told me to look for my battery. My heard dropped again. I had left it at home as well. I called Bigs Camera because it was close to down town, but they were out of batteries for my camera type. Even if they had one it would still have to be charged, and I didn’t have a charger either. I really wanted to go home, but I didn’t. I stayed and had a wonderful time with all of the Charlotte area Clickin Moms and took pictures with my iphone. I had a great time and I look forward to the next walk, and I’ll be sure not to forget my battery and cards next time.
Here are some more pictures from last night:
Tonight I joined a great group of people at Charlotte Camera Club. People brought in all kinds of props and we tried our hand at macro photography. I’ll post more pictures tomorrow but I wanted to get a quick one up for my post tonight.
I have downloaded a trial version of Light Room 5 to play around with. I have never used light room before but I’ve seen some pretty cool demos on the capabilities. For my pictured today I took a macro shot of a little Christmas tree one of my girls made for us one year and I imported into Light Room for my edits. I am trying to compare it to Adobe Bridge and Camera Raw to see if I really want to get it. I only have 25 days left on my trial so I need to really get into it over the weekend.
I wast trying to think of what to take a picture of tonight. I was going to take a macro shot of bananas but I looked over and saw the bag of Oreos (Aldi brand Oreos to be exact). She loves them I have to limit the number she can have everyday, and after I took this picture….I let her have a few. It makes me think of that commercial from Christmas time… “Oh oh oh…who’s that kid with the Oreo cookie.” Love it!!! Love the memories…Hope she has good ones too.
My little sweetie was looking through the Oriental Trading catalog, circling everything she wanted me to get for their costume party (she circled almost everything). While she was doing that, I was taking pictures of her and when I showed them to her, I asked her which one I should use and she picked this on.
My oldest daughter had company over this evening and her two younger sisters were “off the chain’!! Here is my middle daughter sitting on the steps. You can’t tell from the pictures but she was being very silly.
I’m so excited. My favorite season is right around the corner. Can’t wait to see the mums in full bloom.
I got a text from my sister-in-law this evening saying I should take a picture of the moon tonight. So I looked out the window and saw the spooky cloud covered moon. The colors in the surrounding clouds were very pretty. I don’t feel like I did the picture justice. I wish I had a bigger stronger lens, but I think I’m happy with what I captured. I couldn’t decide if I liked the black and white or the color better so I’m posting both.
